Modifiers
Create modifier groups for extras and choices, such as add cheese or choose a sauce, and attach them to menu categories.
A is a set of extras or choices a customer can add to a dish. Groups attach to menu categories, so every dish in that category offers them.
The sidebar has two screens for this, Modifier Groups and Modifier Groups (Beta). They edit the same groups, so anything you make in one shows in the other. We recommend the Beta screen, headed Modifiers: everything is on one page.
Create a modifier group
Start
Open Menu Manager > Modifier Groups (Beta) and click Add New. Type the group's name at the top, for example "Extra toppings".
Add the options (optional)
Under Ingredients, search the market list and add each option with its quantity, unit and Price (what the customer pays). ChefAdmin shows the cost so you can see the margin on each extra.
Choose where it applies
Under Where does this apply?, pick the menu categories. For each one, set:
- Required: Yes if the customer must choose one, for example a sauce choice.
- Max selectable: the most options a customer can pick.
Save
Save the group. Edit or delete it later from the list.
