Cookbook and brands
Where your recipes live, who can see them, and how your personal folder, your own brands and company brands work.
The Cookbook tab holds every recipe you can see.
Finding recipes
- Personal and Company: if you work for a company on ChefAdmin, switch between your own recipes and your company's. Company accounts open on Company.
- Brand row: tap All or a brand to filter.
- Menu Items and Sub Recipes: the two sections, each with its own category chips.
Each recipe card shows a chip:
| Chip | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Still being worked on. |
| Needs matching | Its ingredients still need linking to your company inventory. This is done in Engineering on the desktop. |
| Ready | Complete and ready to approve. |
Promoted recipes show no chip.
Where your recipes live
Your personal folder
Everything you capture lands in your first, shown as My folder unless you named it. It is private: nobody else can see it, not the owner and not an administrator. If you leave a company, your unapproved recipes go with you.
Your own brands
You can create your own to organise recipes, for example one per concept you are developing. Add one with + New brand when saving a recipe, or when importing. Your own brands are as private as your folder.
Company brands
Brands set up by your company's owner or manager on the desktop are company brands. You can see their recipes on the Company tab, but the app never saves your new work straight into them. To get a recipe into a company brand, send it with Ready for approval.
A recipe becomes your company's at one moment only: when it is approved and promoted on the desktop. You keep the credit in your Portfolio.
Move a recipe
Open the recipe, tap the options menu and choose Move to a brand. You can move it to your folder or one of your own brands. A recipe that is already in a company brand stays there.
Brand logos
Pick a brand in the brand row, then tap Add [brand] logo or Change [brand] logo.
Delete a brand
You can delete a draft brand you created yourself, from the Import a brand screen: tap the × on the brand and confirm Delete brand. This removes the brand and its draft recipes. Brands that are live in your company cannot be deleted, and promoted recipes are never touched.
