Recipe Manager
Versions and history
How ChefAdmin keeps every previous version of a live recipe, and how to view and compare them.
Every time a live recipe changes, ChefAdmin keeps the old one as a previous . This happens when you:
- Save an edit in Recipe Manager.
- Promote a reworked copy from Engineering.
The newest version is the one your kitchen uses. Previous versions are hidden from the lists but kept.
See the history
In Recipe Manager, choose History on the recipe's row. The Version history drawer lists each version:
- Current, or Replaced [date].
- The version number, who made it and its cost at the time.
- View to open that version, and Compare to see what changed against the current one.
If it says "No previous versions yet", the recipe has not changed since it was first approved.
What happens to the status
A recipe's status carries over to the new version. An item that was Non-active stays Non-active. A reworked recipe promoted from Engineering to replace a live one stays live.
